This week, Fachjan reached an agreement with Gerrit Stolze for the acquisition of his Kentia nursery in De Lier. This 1.4-hectare greenhouse will be acquired by Fachjan as of November 2022, but the stock has been purchased by Fachjan as of today and is being offered through the regular channels/Floriday.
Stolze was looking for a party that could continue his business and found a suitable partner in Fachjan. For Fachjan, Kentia is not an unfamiliar product and is also popular among the various customer groups Fachjan supplies. Since quality is paramount for both Stolze and Fachjan, and their working methods aligned, a match was quickly made.
Stolze Kentia will be kept as intact as possible because it has a good reputation in the market. For example, the staff will be retained, and Gerrit will continue to work for the company, ensuring that cultivation knowledge is not lost. However, the sale of Kentia will be handled by Fachjan, which will thus gain a valuable addition to its assortment. This positive development will see Fachjan grow to approximately 11 hectares of greenhouse space.
