Fachjan is the proud winner of the ‘Ranking the Grower’ 2020 award, in the pot plant category. The prize was presented by Jacco Strating, publisher of KAS-magazine, during a festive and musical event held at our premises.
The jury report:
The jury states that the strong focus on sustainable business practices at Fachjan, the tropical plant nursery from Honselersdijk, is noteworthy. Furthermore, the company is at the forefront of reducing its CO2 footprint.
“Fachjan is a unique company with a unique product, operating globally and ranking among the most sustainable companies in the world. It is a family business that pays great attention to its employees and to the sustainability of the organization. Not to directly profit from it, but to make a statement in the market and contribute to a better world. Honesty and service are paramount for brothers Fred and Paul Janssen. Although the nursery has achieved continuous growth for fifteen consecutive years, these core values are not overlooked.”
‘Ranking the Grower’ is KAS Magazine’s annual grower award, designed to highlight entrepreneurs in greenhouse horticulture. Since 2010, a ranking of companies and/or entrepreneurs has been compiled per crop group, based on a changing theme.
An expert jury assesses the candidates and determines the final ranking. Traditionally, the results of the award are announced during the ‘Ranking the Grower Event’. However, due to the COVID-19 crisis, this year all the winning companies were visited in person.
